Position Paper – Part Three

Name: CAMERON SWINNEY

Instructions: Please use this form as an organizer for writing your portion of your group position paper. You will be writing the third part of the paper. You should clearly and thoroughly document the results of your interviews regarding the final solution that your group has decided on to solve the problem that you are addressing. You may use your own research and the research from other members of your group to address any objections or concerns that were raised by those interviewed. Be sure to follow the MLA citation format that you used when completing your JRP. Your portion of the paper should be a minimum of one page in length.

V. We interviewed individuals to see what their response would be to my plan. Their responses are as follows.
Alberto Hernandez- I agree with having flat taxes, I think its fair that if you have a higher income you should pay more taxes, so its okay, you will pay taxes depending
on you income.

Jaime Lopez- No I don't think this is fair,I think everyone should pay the same amount of taxes no matter how much is their income. if people make more money its because they have worked harder to get it and its not fair to charge them with more taxes.

I recently interviewed Brandon Castillo and he seemed to be okay with the idea that people should all pay the same amount of money. Or the responsibility of the community should be left to the rich people.

Katie Kuzinski also said that she disagreed with flat tax because in the end the people who may result in negatively being affected in part of this propostion is the poor.

John Taylor: Believes that with the amount of money that the people in the 35% tax bracket make, they should be able to afford to pay more towards taxes for public spending.

Patti Taylor: Believes if the money is used for public usage, that the people in the 35% tax bracket can give a little more money to improve the community.

VI. Our answers, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are:that we need a firmer grasp on taxes, and if one should decide to avoide paying taxes that they should be punished, which would requrie them to pay their taxes and serve 12 months in jail and pay $25000 for each year they did not file thier taxes. we want tgo make them pay on time to create a better world
